  • The largest (simple) spread this week is Pacific Biosciences of California (PACB) offering 17.65%.
  • The average spread of the T20 components is 4.11%. This return is continues to increase week on week. This reflects the LARGE broad decline in deal spreads during the week and specifically PACB.

And Finally…

  • The market continues to fluctuate on the whims and impulses of the ongoing trade negotiations. Deals and spreads with Chinese connections continue to suffer as fears grow of retaliatory practices.
  • Spreads continue to widen as the broader market fluctuates. Hopefully, readers took our previous advice and were not 100% invested. The market is offering some attractive returns on existing deals. However, some of these are experiencing a new wave of issues relating to the ongoing economic turmoil. For instance, Travelport (TVPT) has encountered Russian regulatory resistance. Investors are advised to use caution and always fully research investments.
  • Be careful using leverage in these situations, especially longer dated deals.
