Three months after Boise-based Albertsons sued Kroger over their collapsed deal, Kroger has hit back in court. Kroger denied Albertsons’ claims that it didn’t do enough to secure regulatory approval for their failed $20 billion deal and accused its former merger partner of undermining its efforts. In a Delaware state court filing unsealed Tuesday, Kroger said Albertsons improperly worked with C&S Wholesale Grocers to inflate the number of stores that needed to be divested.
